It’s Pride Month! Get out the rainbow flags! Show your pride! All that good stuff. Yes, it’s June again. Which means the year is almost half over and it’s Pride Month! So I wanted to do a couple of posts this month in that theme. For this first one, I’ll be sharing an updated list of my 10 favorite LGBTQIAP+ books. The only rule I have for this list is that the MC has to be the LGBTQIAP+ character. Not a side character. So let’s get on with it, shall we? Yes, this one is in a particular order.
10 – Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
9 – Timekeeper by Tara Sim
8 – Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin
7 – The Summer I Wasn’t Me by Jessica Verdi
6 – The Great American Whatever by Tim Federle
Two new ones so far! The Great American Whatever is SO funny and I loved it. Timekeeper is a historical fiction/steampunk, which is not my usual genre, but I loooooooved it. It’s so adorable!
5 – One Man Guy by Michael Barakiva
4 – How To Repair a Mechanical Heart by J.C. Lillis
3 – Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley
2 – The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
1 – Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Also two new ones! Highly Illogical Behavior blew me away because it was so full of heart and surprisingly funny. And Gentleman’s Guide… man, I cannot flail about this book enough. It’s fantastic. Again, historical fiction, which isn’t my thing usually but this one… it’s golden. My love does not end. And, hahaha, no surprise, Simon VS is still number 1.
What are your favorite LGBTQIAP+ books? Tell me in the comments!

YAY!
I like your list. I would say my favorites so far are Collision Course by C.P. Rowland, Confessions from the Dark by T.B. Markinson and Hard to Get by Cynthia Dane and Hillred Billing.

I’ll be sure to check those out!
Just so you know, Confessions from a Coffees shop comes before Confessions from the Dark.
I know, I know, I should have read them in order, but the second book was free before the first and I snapped up the first book this year when it became available. I need to get around to reading it.
Carry On is one of my all time favorites!! I just bought Simon vs the Home Sapiens Agenda recently but I haven’t gotten to read it yet. I’m super excited about it tho! I will have to check out some of these others on your list!
