Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish
Well, given that my boys are between the ages of 22 and 12, I think it’s safe to say that this list might apply to my future (and I do hope no in the near future) grandchildren. Some of these were my favorites and some are books that my children loved growing up.
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss – I must have read this book a 100 times! I actually know some parts by memory and all my kids loved it too.
Are You my Mother by P.D. Estman – I read this book – voices and all – a lot a well. The version we have has the story in English and Spanish so I could read it in both languages.
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry – A tearjerker, sweet story that is a most.
Little Women by Louise May Alcott – I read this series when I was in middle school and I feel in love with the story. Jo is still my favorite 🙂
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery – This is another beloved series that will steal you heart.
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff and Felicia Bond – Mouse was really popular with my youngest and the pictures are so sweet.
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowlings – I hope that this series becomes a favorite of all ages and readers all over the world. All hype and love is love is well deserved.
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – This series is probably better read when my grand-babies are a bit older, but I do hope then enjoy it as much as I did.
Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne – I read all of Verne’s books when I was around 15 and was amazed on how he was so far ahead of the times.
Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief by Rick Riordan – Yay! Mythology, quests, bravery, gods and more 🙂
What are some of the books you will read to your children or grandchildren?

I totally second Harry Potter and Anne of Green Gables. Such wonderful reads. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is so fun! I loved it as a kid and I still love it now.
I love every book on your list!

The only book on your list I’ve read is The Hunger Games, which I did enjoy when I read it years ago. I read a lot of Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton when I was a kid but now I’d recommend Dahl’s books more because Blyton’s are very much outdated for children today.
Dr. Seuss and Harry Potter are on my list. These are all good books, though I have not heard of the Little Princess. How about the Dinotopia series?
The Little Prince! Another great story and yes, I would want my nieces to read it one day and end up adoring it. 🙂

I love Little Women and have actually read it several times (which is a feat for me because I don’t like rereading books much). I also adored my Little House box set when I was a child so I’m glad to see the books on so many lists this week!
Great list! Dr. Seuss is such a fun children’s author. ^_^
Yeah for Anne! I had to include her. I always admired her spirit and ability to pick herself back up after a fall. One of my all-time favorite literary characters. I included Dr. Seuss as well. I thought he was getting a bad rap lately, and when I look to his books, they evoke my childhood (fact: my childhood nickname was Green Eggs, short for Sam I Am Green Eggs and Ham — I didn’t pick it BTW.)
