The TBR Tag!

Posted October 7, 2014 by Bee in Other / 9 Comments

Hey guys! I was tagged by the lovely Liza @ Reading With ABC for this TBR tag and I love her for it. I love doing tags! Now let’s start, shall we?

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Well, Goodreads of course! I have my normal To-Read shelf and my To-Read-First shelf. On the latter you’ll find all the books I have for review and thus are the most important. I also have a wishlist, on which I put the books I really want and that are already released, and my waiting-for-release shelf on which you’ll find the books that I’m higly anticipating!

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

Mostly ebook. Don’t get me wrong, I love physical copies, but because I live in Belgium and I read in English, I can’t find all the books I want and ebooks are easier for me to have. My ARC’s are also all ebooks because of that. Plus, physical copies cost more so that’s not always an option for me.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

I’m a mood reader, but I try to read the books from my To-Read-First shelf first. If I feel like reading fantasy, I’ll pick a book from that shelf first! It all depends on the mood I’m in.

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest?

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee ~ I tried to start this one years ago, but I’m just not a big fan of classics like this. I was bored and put it down. Granted, I was only 16 at the time. I doubt I’ll pick this up soon though.

A book that you recently added to your TBR pile?

The Ghosts of Heaven by Marcus Sedgwick ~ This is on Netgalley and it’s not something I usually read but it sounds so interesting so I decided to give it a try. The cover is gorgeous don’t you think?

A book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading?

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr ~ I’m not big on fairies and while the cover is gorgeous, I don’t think I’ll read it anytime soon. Or ever.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?

Tear You Apart by Sarah Cross ~ Snow White retelling guys! Of course I’m excited for it!

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you:

Graceling by Kristin Cashore ~ It sounds like something I love but for some reason I haven’t gotten the chance to read it yet!

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you:

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi ~ Honestly the covers are gorgeous and I tried reading it a few times but the writing really wasn’t for me. This book just is not my thing.

A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read:

Winterspell by Claire Legrand ~ I just got a copy of this and I neeeeed to read this soon! It sounds fantastic and I’ve been hearing some really good things about it.

The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf:

1122! Including the books on my To-Read-First shelf, the books I put on hold and the ones on my wishlists.

And I tag these awesome people:

Lauren @ Lose Time Reading
Becca & Lisa @ Lost in Literature
Nick @ Nick’s Book Blog
Mel @ The Daily Prophecy
Melanie, Celine & Larissa @ YA Midnight Reads

And you if you haven’t done it yet but really want to!

  1. mood readers! sometimes i feel i spend more time trying to find that ONE book to suit my mood than actually reading said book. oh well 🙂 Can’t blame you for not picking up To Kill A Mockingbird, i had to read it for school text and getting back the first half took me nearly 2 weeks. but i still have to encourage you to pick it up because it is a classic for reasons, and it gets OH SO MUCH BETTER in the next half. i think i might have reread it many times since then haha.

  2. You are the third person to tag me to do this. I better get to doing it soon! 😀 Anyways, thank you for the tag!
I know people keep pushing you to read Shatter Me, but I’m telling you to do the exact opposite (I have some huge issues with that series that I still have not been able to get over with!)
I wasn’t particularly a fan of Sarah Crossan’s previous retelling novel, but that was ages ago, so I still want to read Tear You Apart. I’m going to look forward to reading your thoughts on Ghosts from Heaven. It’s not my typical kind of read, so I’m going to wait to see what people think of it.
Anyways, good luck getting through all the 1000+ books! If only we had more hours in the day! 🙂
