Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews in which we feature all the book goodness that we received, borrowed or purchased during the previous week. All links are to Goodreads.

Life, News and Happenings

Another really busy week comes to an end gorgeous readers!  I know I always say that, but work has been crazy lately and I’m not sure it will get better any time soon.

I had a really bad day on Tuesday… I had a migraine triggered by something I ate and the pain meds make me really sick too.  It’s gotten to a point that I can hardly ate anythig with preservatives, canned or frozen meals are out too.  It’s a good thing that I love to cook, right?

Last Saturday “B” and  I went to the Baltimore Book Festival and we had a blast!  There were several members of YADC and I finally got to meet Alyssa Susana from

The Eater of Books *waves at Alyssa*  I love these type of event because it’s very relaxed, the authors take time to sign books and talk to readers.  It is such a trill when some of them remember me and/or my blog!  Cinda Williams Chima, which is one of our favorite authors was there and she talked to B (and Andye!) for a while.  She also gave him an ARC of Flamecaster (which he already read!), posters and bookmarks.

Here are some pictures for you!

We saw Cinderella last week and it made use cry three times!  I loved the movie and I can tell it will be a favorite for me 🙂

Stacking the Shelves

Purchased for Kindle/Audible

Claimed by Sarah Fine – I started reading this series after Alyssa raved about it and I loved the first book (she’s always right, you know!)

Radiance by Grace Draven – I found this book in Goodreads and besides having great reviews it sounds amazing and loosely based on Beauty and the Beast. Can’t wait!

More Happy than Not by Adam Silvera – Some of the authors in BFF were raving about this book and I got it while it was the Kindle deal sometime this week.

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone – Nereyda loved it, so I got the audiobook 🙂

Purchased Books

Dirty Thoughts by Megan Erickson – I already read and loved this one, but I got a copy signed by Megan for a giveaway soon!

Rags & Bones by Melissa Marr and a lot of awesome authors – Likewise signed by Melissa, this is an anthology that she called “her baby”.

A Curious Beginning

A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn – How could I resist that cover?

Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis – This one is in audio from the libray.

The Midnight Queen by Sylvia Izzo Hunter – Sounded too good to pass 🙂

The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig – Because Jen read it and is raving about it!

Alyssa and I have been emailing, commenting and messaging each other for years, so I was very happy to finally meet her in person 🙂

  2. I am very curious about the new Charlie Holmberg series,=! The Paper Magician series was not for me, but I liked her writing style, I will be awaiting your review on this one.

My daughter and I love the CInderella movie, we both cried as we watched it too! The song her Mom sang to her “Lavender’s Blue” has been added to our before bed lullaby line up 🙂

I think that the stranger of the books in the Paper Magician series was the first one. I really liked the magic, the world building and the sweet romance 🙂

I watched Cinderella with my 10 year old (boy) and my hubby and we all cried! Such a good movie and message. I can’t wait for Beauty and the Beast since it’s my favorite fairy tale 🙂
