When a friend from Teague’s old life comes to visit, it sets in motion a sequence of events that will rock the Pixi world and force Cailin to question everything she thought she knew.

She knows that her father has been keeping secrets, but it’s only now that she begins to realize just how little she knows. Now she is trying to figure out what Owen’s relationship is with her father and if Owen and Teague are really what she thought they were. Learning the truth comes at a price, and Cailin is left wondering who she can trust.

Permanent Shadows is the second book in the YA Paranormal Romance series, The Punishment Sequence.

4.5 Stars

I was so happy when C.E. send me a message on Goodreads to tell me the sequel to Oath of Servitude was out! I loved that book and I really wanted to read this one. And I’m glad I finally got to it. Permanent shadows is a good sequel! I think it’s just as good as the first one.

I’m not going to rehash the plot because it may give away spoilers for the first book and I don’t like giving spoilers. The writing was better in this book. As it usually is. After all, a writer keeps on getting better with every book they write. It took me a while to remember everything that happened in the first book because I read it a while ago and I’ve read a lot of book in between so I mix some up a lot. But once I remembered everything, I had so much fun reading it and I loved seeing everyone again!

I still love Cailin as much as I did. She’s so cool and she’s got spunk! I just love her. And Teague is so sweet! I flew through the pages and it was over before I realized so the next book better be done soon. Thank you for letting me read this book! I loved it!
