The love that lasts the longest is the love that can never be.

For twenty-five year old Mitchell McCallister, that statement never seemed true. Finding the woman he loved happened in a snap, or so he thought. That was, until he found a connection with someone else, in a place he least expected. One kiss was all it took to keep him breathless and wanting more, but falling for a stripper he would never see again seemed foolish.

Being abandoned by her mother and living with her alcoholic father, Nevaeh Sky never really knew what it meant to feel wanted. Moving to a new town still wouldn’t change that, right? Waltzing into the office as a senior transfer to her new high school, Nevaeh is bemused to find the very mysterious stranger who was too shy to make a move on her at her new job. Having Mitchell as her new principal, she’s sure it will cause more harm than good.

With an impending marriage, Mitchell struggles to keep his distance from Nevaeh, until he finds her beaten and bloody on the school steps. Taking her in and learning her secrets, the explosive forbidden attraction between them leaves Mitchell wavering; not only with her, but in his own life. Determined to save her from the life she’s chosen, Mitchell has no idea his world will never be the same again.

But will saving Nevaeh be worth destroying everything he’s worked so hard for?

I received this book for free from the publisher or author in exchange for an honest review.
This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

4 Stars

I loved this book! It wasn’t the best I’ve ever read, but I loved it. The story was good, the characters were fun and the writing was also good so what else do I have to say? It’s a good book and if you’re a fan of this genre, then you most likely will love it too. I did find it a little predictable at times, but that didn’t really bother me. =) Yeah, good book, good writing. I will be looking out for future books of this author!

Yeah, that was a short review, but I don’t like to babble on about a book if I don’t have a lot to say about it. But because it’s the release day today, I interviewed Cyndi Harris about her book, her writing and future plans. This is my first interview ever, so yeah. Keep that to mind, haha.

Where did you get the idea for Heart of a Stripper?

I came up with the story idea a few years ago, I want to say in 2008. It was just an idea, but nothing I ever wrote down, but needless to say it stuck with me. It came from me crushing on a celebrity who is 13 yrs my senior lol. (He sure doesn’t look it lol) Anyway, that’s where the age gap ties in, but I didn’t want my guy to be too much older than her. So, doing research, I saw the youngest principal was 26. I thought going for 25 would be better to cut down the age gap more.

As far as the teacher student idea, that was just an element that presented itself. I thought hey, it would be cool if instead of just a somewhat older guy, lets throw them in a different element. But as I said, I never wrote it down. It just floated in my head for a few years, until now. I felt like it needed to be shown the light of day.

When did you start writing?

Since I can remember! LOL But I began taking it seriously around age 13.

What’s your biggest source of inspiration?

When I pick up a great book, and see it’s the same thing I have ideas for, it drives me to work harder at my craft. I want to have others pick up my work and love it.

What do you do in your spare time, next to writing?

I actually just love to curl up, and watch a great scary movie.

Are there any future projects your working on?

Yes, definitely! I have my next book in editing phase as we speak. This one will be the first in a series, it’s going to be Paranormal Romance fiction. So stay tuned!! I’ll be glad to reveal the cover here again 🙂

Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?

NEVER give up! No matter how many doors shut in your face, push forward. All the greats had to fight for their spot and you should too!

Good tip! Never give up is my motto. Can’t wait to read your new book and I’m honored that you want to reveal the cover on my blog!
