My All Time Top Ten Books Read in the Past Three Years

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

As you might notice, I mixed my dates for the TTT post, so if you rather don’t get confused, you can head over to last week’s post by clicking here.

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen – I adore a lot of Dessen’s books, but The Truth About Forever and Just Listen and my favorites.  Why?  It’s a combination of the insightful writing and the awesome characters.

The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay – This book is amazing.  I which I could find the words to tell you how much I loved it (I tried in my review, find it here).  It is the story of two people that are broken, and how they heal each other.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak – The Book Thief deserves all the stars in the world and more. The magic of this book is in the writing, in the way that words carry meaning, feelings, senses, they are real, with weight, flavor, and smell.,, See my review here.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown – This series is like nothing you’ve ever read before! I kid you not, it’s a combination of sci-fi, roman mythology, and an extreme Hunger Games.  It’s a story of slavery, of injustice, of becoming “more”, of faith and justice.  Go and read it! See my review here.

On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta – On the Jellico Road is an outstanding story of loss, redemption, and the power of love. Is a combination of two stories and how they intertwine each other.  See my review here.

The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas – This is another amazing series that hits a home run with me as a lover of historical fiction, magic, fantasy and romance.  *I love you Titus!* See my review here.

The Scorpio Races   and The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater – What can I say about Stiefvater’s writing that will make you run and read these books?  They are lyrical, insightful, it’s like poetry mixed with paranormal.  See my review for Scorpio here and Raven Boys here.

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski – Fantasy! Empires, slaves, revolution, and a genius main character!  See my review here.

The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson – One of my favorite fantasy series yet, the last book was so incredibly good.  I love the character growth on this one! See my review here.

Just One Year by Gayle Forman – I also love Forman’s books.  All. Of. Them. But Willem’s story is probably my favorite.  It’s a road trip book in the search of purpose and insight.  See my review here.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – Sorry, but I had to include this one in the list.  No explanation needed. Go read it and see the movie too. See my review here.

Yes, I know these are more than ten, so forgive me slight cheating 🙂 You know I could keep going and going, right?
