Okay so in my last Mirror Mirror I mentioned that we were gonna look for a co-blogger and that an official post would be up soon. You’ve probably been wondering “well gosh Bee, how much longer do we have to wait for that dang post???” And I’ll tell you. You’ll have to wait forever because we don’t need it anymore. Don’t get me wrong. I had it all ready and scheduled and it was magnificent for sure. But something funny happened.

So I was out with my best friend Stephanie to watch Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them (awesome movie btw, Newt Scamander is adorable and I want to give him squishy hugs) and I mentioned the upcoming co-blogger search and then the conversation went like this:

Her: Hey why don’t I become your co-blogger??
Me: YAS that’s a fantastic idea! But can you post at least once a week tho???
Her: No prob dude. I’ll do the thing. It’ll be awesome.
Me: YASSS LET’S DO THIS!

I’m just paraphrasing here but that’s kind of how it went. For sure. Anyway! So yeah, after that I discussed it with Liza and she gave her okay because this made everything SO much easier since Steph is an awesome reviewer and she knows WordPress and all the things. So there we go. Now my awesome best friend Steph is the newest addition to this glorious team. I love her to bits and she’s my best friend and my sister and I’m sure you’ll love her too. Now I’m gonna let Liza say her thing and then Steph, who will go by her nickname Effie on the blog, will introduce herself to you guys.

The floor is yours Liza!

Liza

As Bee so eloquently said, we had discussed searching for a co-blogger. As we all get busier: Bee with writing and beta reading, Rach with school and yours truly with work and kids, we found ourselves stretched a bit thin. We appreciate Leah’s help (*waves at Leah*), but found that we still had the need for a co-blogger.  SO, when Bee told me that Steph wanted to be part of Quite the Novel Idea, I was all in.

Steph has experience as a reviewer and in WordPress and the UBB and that sure makes everything a lot easier.  So all that’s left for me to say now is: WELCOME Effie!  *queue in the fireworks*

Steph/Effie

*bows* Thank you ladies for the warm welcome! And hellooooooooooooooooo everyone! I’m Stephanie aka Effie. And as of today I will be the new co-blogger here at Quite the Novel Idea and I am thrilled to be part of this amazing team.

So let me tell you all, a little about myself. I’m currently 26-years-old and like Bee, I live in Belgium. Little fact about me is that I was born on Friday the 13th and I so do love telling people that because if anyone is gonna call anyone a witch, it’s gonna be meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Get your brooms and cauldrons, ready, because I’mma comin’!

When it comes to books though, I hold a deep, deep love for all things fantasy. Which is what I mainly review, though I do take on other genres as well. Before deciding to merge with the ladies here at Quite the Novel Idea, I owned the blog Wishing Upon a Book. And as Liza said, it helped me gain experience with WordPress and the UBB.

Let me see, what else can I say…

Well, when I’m not reading, I write my own stories. I used to have a contract with a small publishing house in the Netherlands, but lots of things happened and right now I’m a bit leery about all kinds of publishing houses (and no the 2 books I published with them are no longer available, thank the Planet, but I am planning to someday release them in English. Whether it’s with a publishing house or self-published, I’m still undecided).

Besides writing, I am also a passionate Pokémon Shiny Hunter (no judging 😛 ) and yes that does mean, I have the lastest Pokémon games called Sun and Moon. No, I haven’t finished them yet, but I will! In addition to my Pokémon Shiny Hunting, I am also a Lifetime Member of Star Stable! I missed horseback riding so much, but with my fulltime job as a train conductor for the Belgian NMBS Railway Company, riding has taken a backseat in my life. So I use Star Stable to get my weekly fill of horseback riding (even if it’s only virtual).

Since labeling has become a thing in today’s world, I should also mention that, while I don’t really care either way what I’m called, I’m considered asexual. In truth, I just don’t go down and dirty with anyone, because I don’t feel like it. I’m a very stubborn woman and when I don’t want to do something, I don’t do it. Hence my precious little label of asexual, given to me by society (at least a part of it). Also fictional characters from movies and books, don’t count. I do whatever I want with those *cackles*.

Moving on, I would very much like you all to meet my furry babies! I love them to bits and I don’t know what my life would be without them.

Meet Minoe, Mikki and Kito! My precious little furbabies! Aren’t they adorable? <3

Now that you’ve met my furbabies, I think I’m out of things to say. Of course everyone can always ask anything if they want to know more. No need to be shy! I don’t bite… much.

And last but not least thank you again to Bee, Liza and Rachel for welcoming me to the team! I’ll do my very best to be a good co-blogger!

Give Effie a warm welcome in the comments!

  1. Hi Effie! I’m looking forward to reading your posts!
I’m writing this with a cat on my lap, so I feel a close bond with you already. Cats are AMAZING :).

  2. Nathan

Hello it is nice to meet you Effie. Thank you for joining Quite the novel idea!
I like your furry friends. I have two Russian Blue cats, who sometimes try to use my computer…
…just for the record, I am human and a cat is not writing this:)

It’s nice to meet you too and thank you very much! Two Russian Blue Cats?! I love those! Their fur colour is amazing! 😀

  3. The thumbnail on Twitter was a picture of a cat, so for a second I thought your new co-blogger was a cat :’D but yay for Effie! I’ve heard many wonderful things from Bee. Welcome!
