{Bookish Babble} Updates on my Writing Projects!

Bookish Babble is a feature created by Bieke. In these posts we talk about bookish topics (sometimes not so bookish…) and ask for your opinion on the matter! We love hearing from you guys and we love discussion topics, so in these posts we’ll just talk about what comes to our mind and hope you’ll give your opinion. If there is something you want to talk about here on Bookish Babble, fill out the contact form on this page.

Updates on my Writing Projects

So I decided to give y’all a little update on my WIP’s. I have three and you know about the first one since I’ve been talking about it the most, but I’ll also be introducing the other two! Hope you like what you read.

WIP #1: Eternal Light (Tales of Istyria #1)

Yes, you probably know about this one already. It’s the first in a YA Fantasy series (hopefully). It’s about Lucian, who’s kind of an outcast at school with is unique hair and eye color. Then one day he meets a girl who claims she’s from a magical land called Istyria and he’s sucked into an adventure he isn’t sure he wants to be a part of. There are dragons too. And a fabulous & adorable LGBT couple in book 2. I finished the 2nd draft not too long ago and I’m sporadically working on the 3rd whenever new feedback comes rolling in from my beta readers! I hope to have the final manuscript ready by the end of the year so I can send it to publishers/agents. Wish me luck! It’s on Goodreads, should you want to add it to your TBR!

I made a playlist on Youtube with songs that inspire me while working on this book/series! Check it out.

WIP #2: (In)Visible

Title may change in the future. This is my contemporary project, a very personal one at that. What is it about? It’s about a boy who finds the diary of his best friend’s sister. Curious as to what could make her eyes so sad all the time, he starts reading it. The more he reads, the more his feelings towards her change in a time when she’s more vulnerable then ever. What makes this one so personal? Well, it’s actually inspired by events of my own life and I’ll be using my real diary entries from those years. Of course, names are changed and some stuff is added and changed, but still. The plan was always on just writing it from “my” POV, but I started thinking on how I could make it more original and then I got it! I’m telling my story, through someone else’s eyes. I just hope it’ll be good! It’s also on Goodreads already! I’m going to work on this one in November for NaNoWriMo! Wish me luck!

And this one has a playlist too! And the song that inspired the change in POV is this one:

WIP #3: Untitled

No, that’s not the title. It doesn’t have one yet. This one is the most challenging project and it was inspired by a song. It’s a paranormal book about revenge and it’ll be really, really dark. It’s about a young girl that goes through a horrible trauma and is saved from death by [insert paranormal being]. They have a common enemy and together they plan revenge on those who did them both wrong. I’m not entirely sure what paranormal being I’m going for yet. Vampire, demon,… Not sure yet. But this one will be a challenge because of how dark it is and the revenge plot. So yeah. Wish me luck, again.

This the song that inspired it:

You can also add it on Goodreads or check out the playlist!
