Okay so my haul for the past two months is HUGE. I have no restraint okay?? I just neeeeeeded all these books like my life depended on it. Okay that’s slightly more dramatic than it really is but I do need all of these. I already read A THOUSAND PERFECT NOTES by my awesome friend Cait and it was fantastic. I also DNF’ed THE BRIGHTSIDERS, which turned out to be not for me. Also, I couldn’t wait so I already read WHAT IF IT’S US by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera and it’s my favorite book of the year so far! It’s SO cute omg.

In My Life

Okay so a lot happened the past two months so here’s a list.

~ Liza stopped blogging, which is so sad and I miss her already. BUT I do understand why she did it and support her decision 100%. That said, what with me having a baby in two months, we will need help around the blog so I’ll be looking for a co-blogger in June! Keep an eye out on the post.

~ Meanwhile Emma has been kicking like a crazy person. At first she did kickboxing but now I think she’s taken up breakdancing. My bladder, hips, ribs and stomach are not pleased. On the brightside, I don’t have to worry about sitting down for too long in a row because I have to pee every hour or so. My belly looks like there’s an alien inside ready to pop out and it’s really weird. BUT she’s healthy and growing and weighs almost 4 lbs by now!

~ The boyfriend and I have been living together for almost three months now and it’s the best thing ever, honestly. He’s the best thing that has happened to me in my life. He just understands me and he’s there for me and he is my safe place in this world. Living with him has been an eye-opener. It made me realize how bad it was before with my ex. This is what it should be and he makes me insanely happy. Yes that still scares me.

~ We decided to take a trip just the two of us while we still can so we went to the beach for three days! It was… wet. The first day at least. When we got there, it was raining like crazy. We still walked around though because we’re nuts like that. That evening we went to the movie theatre and saw Avengers: Infinity War (more on that later). When we got out we just missed the tram back to the hotel and the next one was an hour away. It was storming but we still walked all the way back over the promenade. It was SO windy and rained so hard but I think it’s the most free I’ve ever felt. The beach just gives me peace in my head even when it’s storming. And being with my boyfriend is always amazing no matter what the circumstances are. The other two days were dry and sunny and just lovely. It was exactly what I needed.

~ Due to some internet problems I had to take a break from blogging for a week unexpectedly, which sucked. But I don’t think anyone noticed and missed me too much so. XD

~ OKAY so I’m still recovering from seeing Infinity War. I CRIED OKAY. My poor babies. No spoilers but the ending had me reeling and sobbing and I still can’t watch any Marvel movie because my heart is still broken and I AM NOT OKAY HERE.

~ I’m writing again!! Hurray! I’ve been working on my YA Contemporary Three Seconds to Sunrise AND my YA Fairy Tale Retelling Once Upon a Dream, which is a queer Beauty and the Beast meets Sleeping Beauty. If you want snippets of either of these projects, shout at me in the comments! Also check out this thread on my Twitter to know more about both projects!

~ Okay so time for some sad news. My brother’s dog, a Jack Russel named Tibo from only a few years old, is very sick. Last Sunday he had to be brought to the vet urgently because he hadn’t eaten or peed in a few days. Turns out he had stones in his kidneys and bladder! They flushed everything out and give him meds but the next day he had to have emergency surgery because everything was so full of stones that his kidneys and bladder almost popped. It seemed like he would recover after that… But then we got the news that his bladder and kidneys are so badly damaged that he might not make it after all. He has black spots on his bladder that can pop at any moment. We’re still hoping he’ll recover but the chances are slim. He’s back with the vet now after he tried to walk over to my brother and fell over. It could be anything though because he hasn’t been eating much from the pain. Please send good thoughts and prayers and whatever else you think might help his way. I love that dog as if it’s my own and my heart is broken right now. Keep an eye out on my Twitter if you want updates.

What’s new with you this week?

  1. What fun is self control when it comes to book buying hauls? I mean it’s probably better for the budget but it’s no fun! The vacation sounds fun despite the weather and a trip to the beach is always good. All the baby breakdancing is always fun though it makes sleeping difficult at times! I haven’t been brave enough to see Infinity Wars yet but I’ve heard things! Hope you’re having a great week!

  2. Oooo I just finished Bring Me Their Hearts! Hopefully you’ll enjoy it, though I found it okay. I also have Shadow of the Fox and completely forgot I ever requested it – oops.

Aww, it’s sad to see Liza go! But life does get in the way, so definitely understandable! Best of luck on your search for a new addition to your team – I’ll be sure to be on the lookout and give it a boost. 🙂

I definitely did NOT notice because I’ve been feeling miserable and highly unmotivated (therefore I ignored everyone and everything except for reading a book and lying around feeling as though I should be very productive but end up not), but it’s okay… now that I know and if I did know, I would have missed you (and I’m sure other people did as well). ^_^

  3. I read and loved A Thousand Perfect Notes recently, too! And I hope you enjoy Not the Girls You’re Looking For as much as I did. 🙂 And it looks like lots has been happening to you in your personal life! All the baby stuff is super exciting, and I’m so glad that you’re really happy living with your boyfriend. 🙂

  4. You do have a lot happening! My dog had bladder stones but we were lucky. We were able to have her eat PH balanced food and after a couple months her Xray showed no stones. So we didn’t have to have surgery or anything. She does have to continue with special food. This was probably 8 years ago. She is 16 now and blind but still healthy otherwise. Wow that’s an awesome book haul. Anne – Books of My Heart

Glad to hear she’s doing good now! My in-law’s dog is getting deaf, which is kind of fitting since the bf’s mom is deaf and his dad’s hearing is getting bad. xD She fits right in.

Thanks. I hope to hear more today (Monday). If the tests for his kidneys came back positive he can go home, otherwise he has to say. But his bladder is still in danger of popping so. 🙁 He’s not even 2 years old the poor thing.

Thanks Mary! Yeah everything is alright. Except my legs and feet are blown up like balloons, which is annoying and hurts in the evening but that’s what you get with warm weather and being pregnant. xD

You’ve had a eventful but good few months. I am sorry about your brother’s dog. I went to the Time’s Colonist Book Sale and got a few books like Secret Daughter by Shript Somaya Gowda, The Women in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware, the third vol of NightWorld by L.J. Smith and Changeling by Yasmine Galenora to name a few. P.S. I also bought my Mom a box set of wood working books at the sale for $27). I start officially my new Biology course next month. That is good news. That bad is I think I had another seizure. Well, I get about one every six months or so, so I guess i was about due.

YES I DO OMG MY HEART.

I haven’t been able to see any of the Marvel films since I saw IW. xD I just can’t see all those characters that I love after what happened. xD
