"When I met Oliver Perry, I had no clue he was the lead singer for The Heartbreakers. And he had no idea that I was the only girl in the world who hated his music."
Stella will do anything for her sick sister, Caraβeven stand in line for an autographed Heartbreakers CD...for four hours. She's totally winning best birthday gift this year. At least she met a cute boy with soft brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes while getting her caffeine fix. Too bad she'll never see him again.
Except, Stella's life has suddenly turned into a cheesy love song. Because Starbucks Boy is Oliver Perry β lead singer for the Heartbreakers. And even after she calls his music crap, Oliver still gives Stella his phone number. And whispers quotes from her favorite Disney movie in her ear. OMG, what is her life?
But how can Stella even think about being with Oliver β dating and laughing and pulling pranks with the band β when her sister could be dying of cancer?
Ali Novak wrote her debut novel My Life with the Walter Boys when she was just 15 years old, and has since penned her next book, The Heartbreakers. First a hit on the online community Wattpad, her second novel has over 38 million reads and is loved by readers around the world.
I received this book for free from the publisher or author in exchange for an honest review.
This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Oh geez, you guys. This was just so sweet and cute. I’m actually a bit lost for words to be honest. I really adored this book, but still it didn’t quite feel like a five star book and it’s really bugging me because I have no idea why.
The Heartbreakers is about Stella. When she goes on a road trip with her brother Drew to get an autographed CD from the popular band The Heartbreakers for their sick twin sister Cara, Stella never imagined how much her life would change. She meets a cute boy at Starbucks, only to find out that he’s Oliver Perry, lead singer for The Heartbreakers. And while Cara’s a huge fan, Stella isn’t. At all. And how can she even think about dating when her sister is so very sick?
This was a really, really sweet, adorable and touching book. It didn’t blow my mind and it wasn’t the best I’ve read in this genre so far this year, though. Which is why I can’t give it 5 stars, I guess. But I still adored it! It was really good! I loved the writing and the story. It reminded me of one of those Disney Channel Original Movies. What? Those are good sometimes. It also balanced out the emotional side of Stella’s home life with her sick sister and the fun and sweet stuff with the romance and everything else. Also the romance was done well. I wouldn’t call it the perfect romance, but I did like it a lot.
The characters were the best part. Their interactions were hilarious most of the time. Yeah, there’s a lot of humor in this book, I laughed out loud a lot of times. I looooved the other band members, Alec, Xander and JJ. I loved Drew and Cara, Stella’s twin brother and sister. Yeah, they’re triplets. I loved their bond and how much they loved each other! Stella was a fantastic main character and I really liked her a lot. She grows a lot in this book and so did Oliver. Oh gosh, I loved Oliver. He can quote Disney guys. Seriously.
Oliver shook his head. “Geez, I don’t stand a chance with you, do I?”
“Why do you say that?”
“Well, your ideal man is a vampire-werewolf hybrid who’s as swift as the coursing river and mysterious as the dark side of the moon.”
I giggled. “And the son of Zeus,”
If you’re a fan of Young Adult contemporary, I highly recommend this book, of course. It’s cute, sweet, touching and adorable. Check it out!

So glad you liked this so much, Bee! π As you know I ended up DNFing it… π I adore Disney movies, but this one was a little bit too much for me. Maybe I like watching cheesy things, but I’m not okay with reading about it? Yeah, okay, I’m totally weird!

Haha, it happens. π To each his own. It helped that I expected it when I started this book and that I was in the mood for it.
